Florenza will tailor her visit to your school to fit your campus' unique needs. She speaks on SOLs and SELs and the writing process, publishing, dealing with rejection, starting her own publishing company, and surviving the editing process. Her school visits are lively, energetic, and interactive. Her vibrant personality keeps students and educators on the edge of their seats.
WORKSHOPS:
Mindfulness Matters introduces the audience to Mindfulness and Meditation. It includes video presentations, Mindful breathing, eating, listening, and a three-minute meditation. This presentation is very energetic and hands-on. Florenza provides worksheets for the students to take home and share Mindfulness with their families. Mindfulness Matters also includes reading from her award-winning book, The Tail of Max the Mindless Dog, A Children's Book on Mindfulness. This workshop is suitable for grades K-8 (with adaptations).
Saying No to Negative Influences teaches children the power of saying no to negative influences while saying yes to positive ones. This workshop incorporates lessons found in Barry Bear's book, Barry Bear's Very Best, Learning to Say No to Negative Influences. It contains worksheets, hands-on activities, video presentations, and role-play. Children receive worksheets to take home and share with their families. This workshop requires one hour and is suitable for grades K-5.
Manners Matter—Based on her award-winning book Mind Your Manners, Mia, Florenza uses hands-on instructions, interactive dialogue, and writing prompts to teach children the importance of using proper manners in their everyday interactions.
