"This is an intense, reflective, and richly detailed story of a critical topic. It is beautifully written with such love and compassion, and I am sure it speaks truly of this sacrifice of the whole military family unit. It was hard to read without tearing up. This story highlights the courage and strength of these families. This dynamic, straightforward self-help book is full of positive characters who face adversity but can remain true to themselves and use self-determination, courage, and self-respect to fight against the odds. These are strong books, and they need to be heard! These are especially good for addressing trauma and for learning how to be strong and courageous!
Thank you to Florenza Lee for sending me these books. All opinions expressed are my own. " Eve Costarelli

"Over the course of our lives, we are exposed to several types of habits. We have a clear indication of why we perform some habits while at other times, we are unsure how a habit has come about. A dog called Max had a frequent habit of chasing his tail. The Tail of Max the Mindless Dog: A Children's Book on Mindfulness by Florenza Denise Lee shows us that we can be so caught up in a habit that, over the course of a few years, it becomes a part of who we are. One day Max's life changed when his friend, Ross, taught Max some mindfulness exercises. Through closed eyes, controlled breathing, counting, and going inward, one can overcome any habit, especially those that can become harmful to us. This exercise helped Max not only to overcome his bad habit of chasing his tail, but it also enabled him to share this exercise with others so that they too could become free from habits that can hurt them.
I enjoyed this book because it can be autographed for that special child. There is a space at the beginning of the book that says This Book Belongs To____________, which gives a personalized touch. It will provide the child with a book all of their own that they can enjoy, share, and read repeatedly. Both children and adults alike can learn a lot from this educational book. Not only does this book offer a great story, but the illustrations are engaging and stunning in helping to tell and shape the story. Mindfulness is a new term that is making its place in the world, as in its current form, ultimately relaxation is the key. Being in touch with your surroundings, seeing how your environment affects you, and overcoming any form of anxiety, worry, or negative emotions can put anyone at ease."

"This book addresses the weighty and real-life topics of drugs, bullying, and bad choices through the very positive eyes of a young bear who is of strong conviction and knows that striving to be the best he can be is the way to live a happy, satisfying life. He is a wonderful role model, and because of the deepness of the topics, it can be shared with children and pre-teens and up as well. It is a very accessible story highlighting goodness in oneself. This dynamic, straightforward self-help book is full of positive characters who face adversity but can remain true to themselves and use self-determination, courage, and self-respect to fight against the odds. These are strong books, and they need to be heard! These are especially good for addressing trauma and for learning how to be strong and courageous!" -Always be Dancing
